Glass

GLASS:

I returned to the UK from Greece in 1999 and started my studies for a BA and then an MA in Architectural Glass. Stained glass in Swansea, something that had fascinated me from childhood, the colours, the stories depicted and the light shining through. I still feel the same. It’s magical! – but then so is Kiln-formed glass, an area that became my focus when studying for a Master’s degree. I was fascinated with controlling the movement of glass when it was a flowing liquid and achieving designs that would be contained within it. Inspired by natural forms, I get my inspiration from the natural world; leaves, phytoplankton and sea-life.

TEACHING:

I have a Post-Graduate Teaching Certificate in Education (PGCE) which gives me the opportunity of teaching Art, which I do part time. I teach beginner fused glass techniques to GCSE pupils at Bishopston Comprehensive – oh how I wish we had this option when I was at school (many moons ago).

CLASSES:

Look out for Intermittent glass fusing weekend courses held at Swansea Community Workshops. They will be advertised on the Community workshop facebook page, on my website (look for the BOOK CLASSES button) and on social media.

I also run classes from my own studio in Gorseinon. These need to be arranges privately. Please contact me for details.
